Crazy Love #9

The real theme of this Crazy Love series seems to be quick and easy cards, and I'm okay with that.  This card is a lot more traditional Valentine's Day.  I may have gone overboard with the heart embellishments but I like to think of it as my love just pouring out into my work (my love for shiny things, that is).

This card was completely stress free to make which is exactly the type of card I like.  I just hope the recipient enjoys it as much as I do!

Crazy Love #7

This card for today was mostly just an excuse to use some more of my mom's washi tape and some of my grandmother's bling hearts.

I really enjoy how cutesy this card is because it's definitely not my typical style.

Crazy Love #6

Today's card took a lot more time than I initially expected because I decided to try something that I haven't done in awhile which is coloring!

I got to use a few colors that I haven't played with in a bit like the light blue (it was a bad day to try and photograph it so it looks a little dingier than in person) and as with a few of the cards in this series I really like not having totally traditional colors for Valentine's cards.

The coloring took some time, especially because my hands were a little extra shaky this morning and my sneezing was off the charts but it definitely could've turned out worse.  I would like to try and incorporate coloring into my work more often since it looks nice and is fairly relaxing to do.

Crazy Love #5

Today's Valentine's Day card is a little non-traditional in the Valentine realm.  I thought this stamp set was just the absolute cutest thing and decided to use the chameleon from it as color inspiration as well.  Raiding my mom's stamp set collection is a favorite past time of mine.

The card came together slowly, building from the sentiment out.  I'm most proud that I was able to work some more of my grandma's bling into the card pretty seamlessly.

The card was difficult to photograph in the excessive Arizona sun since I couldn't actually see my phone screen but other than the marker on the chameleon everything looks relatively like it should.

Crazy Love #4

Another real simple card made fabulous by bling!  I really liked making this card because I was able use Navy and Teal, two colors I don't usually think of when I'm brainstorming Valentine's Day cards, but that pleasantly surprised me.

This card was pretty quick to make but I think it will be a cute one to send out to friends.  I also was able to use up some bling that had long been collecting dust to make room for some more (as soon as I get my but over to Tuesday Morning).

Identifiable Elements:

  • Polka dot paper- Well Traveled by Carina Gardner collection by Carta Bella
  • Navy ink- Night of Navy by Stampin' Up!
  • Sentiment- Wacky Wishes by Stampin' Up!
  • Washi tape- Cat's Meow collection by Paper Lane

Crazy Love #3

The card for today was super fast and super easy which is what makes this perfect for me to mass produce and make sure I get out cards to all my friends.

I like the simplicity in the design although I will admit I kind of wish I did a little more to give it a little more oomph.  That being said, too much more and I probably wouldn't be able to recreate it so easily so maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

  • Pink paper & ink- Rose Red by Stampin' Up!

Crazy Love #2

Today's Valentine's card is a super simple, yet super cute little number.  I really wanted to use the Bloomin' Love stamp set my mom had in her collection.

It took a couple of tries to figure out exactly which color I wanted to stamp in as the light pinks were often just a hair too light to really show up well.  I tried to choose a pink that matched the dark parts of the flower paper in the background.

If I had more scraps of the background flower paper I'd definitely be making this card again.

Crazy Love #1

For the first 2 weeks here leading up to Valentine's Day I'm hoping to do a "Crazy Love" series here with fun Valentine's Day cards I can send out to my friends (especially the out of state ones).  The first card is this one that I made using some scrap paper I had.  I love the way the colors all look together and I think it turned out super cute.

The best thing about this card was how quickly it came together so I might be making some other versions to send out as well.

Identifiable Elements:

  • Teal paper- Bermuda Bay by Stampin' Up!
  • Pink paper- Blushing Bride by Stampin' Up!
  • Stamp set- "You're My Type" by Stampin' Up!
