Fast Card Friday

Along with bringing back the blog, I'm bringing back my old Fast Card Friday routine.  This card was also a part of the ribbon clearing I started this week as you can probably tell.  You also probably realize it is a part of my never-ending button purging.

I have come to realize that I have more buttons than I will ever know what to do with and so those will likely be next on the chopping block in my quest to purge a large portion of my stash.  They take up so much room in my craft area and I feel like I force myself to use them more than I genuinely desire to use them.  We'll see how it goes as parting can be such sweet sorrow.

Fast Card Friday

I was doing more digging into the pile of bits and pieces on my work desk and decided to throw together this neat little birthday card.  I purged a bunch of these card things that I had not too long ago, but I kept this kite one with a few others because I thought they were cute and actually useful.

I spiced it up a little with some washi tape and dimensional flowers, but I think the washi tape could be on its last leg.  It didn't really want to stay down, as evidenced by this photo.  I'm probably going to tack it down with some clear glue before I send it off to anyone.

Fast Card Friday

I decided to take a pile of scraps I had on my crafting table and make something useful out of them.  This is what I cam up with.  It was a nice quick card to crank out and it helps replenish the birthday stash that I am running low on.

Unfortunately there aren't any identifiable elements to identify on this card as the pieces I used have been sitting for a VERY long time.

Fast Card Friday

It's been awhile since I've done a Fast Card Friday, but here we are.

The card I decided to make today was mostly an excuse to use up some of these postage stamp stickers I had laying around.  I thought a card would be a good way to display them all in their glory, and I also was running low on thank you cards in my emergency bin.

I think it turned out pretty cute and it was fast to make which is always a bonus for me.  As much as I love crafting, sometimes I don't have much time to do it so quick projects are great.

Fast Card Friday

Today's card was a super fast card that I honestly made just to get rid of the last little bit of twine ribbon that I had left.  I've had it for years and years and was sick of looking at it.  I kept holding onto it for the "right moment" but that never came so I decided to force a "right moment"!

The rest of the card was super simple, just stamping thank you and punching out some cute hearts.  I think it turned out nicely and it suites the fall season well.  Of course, it wouldn't be one of MY projects without some bling.

Not only did I get to use my twine but I also was able to use scrap paper that I unfortunately can't identify.

Fast Card Friday

Today I was inspired by the most random thing possible.  I was looking through some of my font stickers and noticed I was running out of these red ones so I decided to try and figure out what I could spell with them.  When I realized I could spell "Good Luck" I knew I had a Fast Card Friday on my hands.

To make the rest of the card I sprayed some distressing ink, punched out some cute ovals, and slapped on some rhinestones.  It truly was a fast card AND it had the added bonus of letting me use up some of the pieces I'd been meaning to.

Luckily I have friends who are constantly growing as people and taking on new endeavors so I know this card will be put to good use!

Fast Card Friday

This Fast Card Friday only happened because I realized I might actually start needing baby cards.  I've never really had a need as I hardly know anyone having kids but I was at work one day and we were talking about how it seemed like we had so many pregnant coworkers giving birth recently and I decided I might want to have some cards on hand for that.

I luckily have some paper die cuts of baby related things that my mom gave me from her old Creative Memories stash.  I used the purple booties to start because I thought they were really cute and I really like purple.  A lot of this is random stuff I had stashed away.  It was really quick to throw together and I already have a potential recipient!

Fast Card Friday

Today's fast card is fast in that it doesn't take long to put the pieces together but it does take a bit of time to dry.  I still consider it fast because without drying time it only took me about 10 minutes to create.

This card was fun to make because I tried out something different with glitter glue.  I lumped a whole lot of streaks of glitter onto the white piece that I had stamped flowers on then unleashed my inner toddler and smeared it with my fingers to get them to mix together.

Finger painting is just as fun as an adult.

I got a little messy myself but I think the otherwise clean lines of the card balance out the visual interest of the glitter.

Unfortunately the blue and green glitter glues had no label as I won them from a contest many years back.

Fast Card Friday

I promise that background color is green.  It was a weird day lighting-wise on balcony today when I took this and my phone was cooperating.  I have no idea why it looks like baby food yellow but in person it is green.  A Fast Card Friday calls for a Fast Photo as well and I didn't feel like fighting with it today.

This card was incredibly simple to make.  When you're in a rush, stamping one image in multiple colors can add some quick visual interest.  I also got to use up the last of my black leaf stickers.  I'm sad to see them go because they were really nice to work with but this just means more space for more fun stuff!

Fast Card Friday

I decided to bring back a concept that I had the first time around with this blog which is posting quick cards that can be made quickly. (I do feel it's necessary to state that these are tending to take me longer but that is only due to the lack of organization in my craft room.  It's hard to find the right button when you keep them all dumped in a shoe box...)

In case if anyone was wondering, yes, those are the same type of "Thanks" felt letters that I was using 2 years ago.  I never made it through the stash of them so I felt it was only appropriate (and a little sentimental) for me to use them in the first 5 Minute Friday of the revamp.  Honestly,  my goal is to be done with them by 2019.  The logical part of me says to get rid of them because there's only so many times I can use them before I lose what's left of my sanity, but the hoarder in me won't allow that.

I made this card as a thank you to a couple of my friends who took care of my cats while I was on vacation for a week attending Gen Con in Indianapolis.  It was a great time, but a long time so I put a little extra "something" in the card for their troubles.

I'll try to post what elements I've used when I can with these cards but this entire card was made with scraps I had around and I have no idea where they came from.  The only thing I know are the buttons, but those came from my grandmother's old sewing kit that I adopted.

Sometimes the quickest way to crank out a card when you're in a rush is to just grab the random bits and slap them on the card stock.

I didn't have time to adjust the lighting with this photo so I'm a little disappointed that the colors look a bit off but the general spirit is still there.

Fast Card Friday

This card wouldn't be nearly as fast except for the fact that all of the piece were pre-cut except for the sentiment.  I put it together to try and weed out some of my excess embellishments and what-not.  It's a fun birthday card and could even work for a younger girl than I'm used to sending cards to!  That being said, I could not get the black fringe to actually how up black in these photos but I'm sure you all get the gist...

Fast Card Friday

I really love how this card turned out.  Considering that none of the pieces came from the same kit (not even necessarily the same company), the papers really coordinate super well together!  I can't wait to send this birthday card out to someone.  Now I just need to restock on envelopes to fit...

Fast Card Friday

The part that took the longest on this Fast Card Friday card was poking the tiny holes out of the center of the pink circles!  The pink circles came from an old Paper Pumpkin kit and the stamps from Stampin' Up as well.  Other than the little pin holes, this was a fast birthday card to make and definitely one to keep in mind for when you need a last minute birthday card! Sidenote: the inside says "You" so don't worry, the greeting does make sense...

Fast Card Friday

Another Project Life piece was put to good use today!  I also managed to use this glitter foam heart from children's Valentine's Day kit that I had left over.  You might notice that it's where I got the glitter hearts for yesterday's Christmas card from as well.  I'm slowly clearing out my stash but I have been looking at some fun embellishments on Etsy lately so hopefully I can hold off at least through August.   Two months should give me some time to clear out even more of my hoard!

Fast Card Friday

The Fast Card Friday for today used up another left over card from an old Paper Pumpkin set.  I'm using these up pretty fast so hopefully soon I will have more space in the drawer I keep pre-folded cards for more things.  My mom has been doing the Paper Pumpkins I've been getting in the mail which has been keeping me from accumulating any more unnecessary stash.

Fast Card Friday

I still am trying to trudge my way through using some of my Project Life pieces without having to actually do a Project Life book. I don't know why, but I don't really like them that much.  I do, however, like the way that one of the pieces fit with this quick to throw together card.  All the other pieces were either scraps or left over bits from Paper Pumpkin kits too.  Now I just need it to be someone's birthday to send it out!

Fast Card Friday

I used another foil heart for this one.  It's hard to capture how shiny and cool the foil looks in real life, but trust me, this one shines!  This card almost has a Valentine's Day vibe but it really could be sent just about anytime.  Talk about fast too.  Even with stamping the sentiment and cutting the pieces it only takes about 10 minutes to assemble.  You can't beat that!

Fast Card Friday

Another Project Life piece put to work!  I also managed to use this glittery foam heart that originally came from a little kid's Valentine's Day craft kit that I had left over.  You might notice that it's also where the glitter hearts from yesterday's Christmas card came from!  I'm making progress on clearing out my stash but I've been on Etsy looking at some more embellishments so hopefully I'll be strong enough to make it through at least August without buying anymore.  I think two months should give me enough time to do some serious damage to my hoard.

Fast Card Friday

For this Fast Card Friday I used an unusual element.  The stars on the card are the plastic stars that you can get to hang on your ceilings and walls.  I had a bunch that I had hanging in my dorm room and just never threw away.  I put them with my scrapbooking stuff thinking that they might come in handy and they have.  I'll have to try more projects with them later on.  This card was ridiculously fast to put together with little things I had around and only took me about 10 minutes total.

Fast Card Friday

I decided to start posting some more of my super quick make and go cards that take 15 minutes or less to assemble.  This card used a lot of old Stampin' Up stuff but I the design is easily replicated and it only took a few minutes to throw together.
