Today's page is one that I'm surprised I never finished. It had pretty good bones and had I added ANY text I might've considered it done. I really like the color combo past me chose.
It's really shocking to me just how close I got to finishing some of these pages before walking away.
The crazy part about finishing this page was that I only added 3 elements; some washi tape, felt buttons, and letters. I had to add extra glue to the letters to get them to stick down, but that's probably because I've had them for quite awhile and original purchased them from a clearance pile.

The page I knocked out today depicts the very first time I ever wore my Flash costume. I bought it specifically for this trip because I needed a fun Halloween costume, but I also needed one that wouldn't take up much space in my luggage. It's ended up being one of the best purchases I've ever made as I've worn it on many occasions. There was a costume party on the ship on Halloween night that was super fun. Some of the bands dressed up for it and there was a small parade from the children's station that went around showing off all the little kids in their costumes. I got candy from one of them because apparently I was their favorite superhero. My friend didn't want to dress up quite as much since we'd had a fairly long day already so she mostly just went punk/goth again.
I don't have many identifiable elements for this page because it was put together from a lot of bits and pieces I once again took from my mom's stash. 3OH!3 is one of my all time favorite bands and they have a very strong party vibe to them which is why they were the ones playing at the Halloween costume party. They brought fans dressed in inflatable dinosaur costumes up on the stage to dance and made it an awesome time. Identifiable Elements:

I finally decided to get around to scrapbooking the cruise that my friend and I took almost 2 years ago. We went on the Warped Rewind at Sea cruise which took place over Halloween of 2017. About 20-30 bands who were all Warped Tour alumni stayed on our ship and played shows daily. We got to see a lot of favorites and had so much fun. We stopped off in Mexico as well, so needless to say I have plenty to scrapbook from the trip. We left out of New Orleans and took a train all the way down from Chicago but I might not be able to fit everything from that part of the trip in as well so for now this album will focus on the cruise itself.
This was the first page I decided to do, since it was the first picture that the official photographers took of us as we boarded the ship. We were still in our lazy travel clothes (we'd had a fun night out in New Orleans the night before and were rushing to check out of our hotel and make it on the boat early), but I did manage to rep my Yellowcard tank top I made in high school. The first time I ever saw them live was at a Warped Tour so it felt appropriate.
I was able to raid more of my mom's stash for this album and I found some real gems. I'm surprised she had the embroidery nautical anchors because we do very little involving boats or sailing but thankfully she did because they worked great with this page!

Today's page features a lovely postcard brought to us by Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville in Las Vegas. When I went to Vegas last year with some of my friends three of us decided to check out his restaurant since it was hooked right on to our hotel. They came by and snapped this photo. We didn't end up buying the actual photo but we kept the postcard they gave us with the photo on it so I could scrapbook it. I tried to play off of the cool beach that is featured on the card. I debated adding more bright, crazy colors, but I liked the tone that was forming and I didn't want to overwhelm the tiny photo of us which was the most important part.
I had a lot of fun raiding my mom's embellishment stash for the flair on this page and I think she's probably glad that I was able to use more of the ones left over from my grandma's stash.

Yesterday I decided that I wanted to get back into making some scrapbook pages, even though I'm still at my parent's house for a bit, and I only have a handful of photos to work with at the moment. I decided to take on Scrap Our Stash's July sketch challenge. At first I was hesitant because sketch challenges are harder than others for me and I was worried about not having the right photos for it. Luckily for me, I found some that work, and I think that the page turned out great!
This was the sketch that we had to work off of:
I stuck close to the sketch until I realized the title I wanted was a bit bigger than theirs, but I think I made it work. I really wanted to keep the photo positions, long background strip, and the fun accent in between the photos (which is something I would probably have never tried to do on my own). I'm both glad to say I kept all three. For the "Arrow" I made sure to use arrow like pink paper and the thicker with the arrow banner. I didn't have any true arrows in my personal stash to work with but even if it doesn't fit the challenge absolutely perfectly, I'm very proud of my effort.
This whole color scheme and everything isn't my usual style but I think I might start adopting it as such. I really love how it turned out and can't wait to do some more like this! Identifiable elements:

It's been awhile since I've had the time to sit down and do some scrapping but I went ahead and made this page. I had totally forgotten that I had bought the glittery quote stickers. Usually I don't like quote stickers but I remember realizing that these were ones I could actually use and I'm glad I got them!
I love the way the page turned out and I'm glad I got to add a little more sparkly to my life in the process.
I'm thinking I might have to reorganize some of my scrapbooks by year since I've been trying to put them on as many pages as possible but that's a project for another day, I believe.

I really didn't mean to get as far behind with this blog as I have but I suppose that's just life. I'm back (hopefully for good this time) and I made this page in celebration.
This page was really fun for me to make and I really like how it turned out. I had fun using papers I love and getting to use some of my stash at the same time. For awhile I had felt fairly uninspired but after my unintentional break I got some of my mojo back. Plus, with it being as dreary out as it is this time of year, the bright colors really cheered me up. Identifiable Elements:
Today was a day that was a test of my adhesive abilities. I bought these cool bows not long ago without fully taking into account how large and heavy they were. It took a lot of glue dots and a lot of patience to get them stuck down for good (hopefully).
Since the bows were so thick I tried to keep the page from getting to massive. I didn't want to add 5 lbs. to my scrapbook just for one page!
Luckily, I feel that the paper, enamel stickers, and light weight Thickers were able to give the page enough interest without me have to add to much to what was there. Identifiable Elements:

This page probably should've been saved for a Hoarder's Hump Day but I'm just too proud of it to wait! I'm super excited that I got to use the custom Thickers of glitter that I had originally made for a different page. I had ended up not using them because I didn't think they worked but when I found these photos and realized the phrase and the date were right I immediately knew I had to work with them!
Lots of times I find myself trying to steer away from red and especially yellow so I'm really proud of myself for embracing this background paper. I'm surprised at how much I ended up loving it!
I used a lot of things I'd been hoarding so unfortunately the pieces I can identify is limited. It's my goal to eventually pare down my stash to only things that I name but I believe that's just a pipe dream at this point. Identifiable Elements:

I was so excited to make this page because I got to use some of the paper from a collection of 6x6" that I fell in love with awhile back. The Wild Card Collection by Bo Bunny speaks to me on an emotional level that I can't explain (maybe a little dramatic for paper but I don't care).
I loved cutting out the fun shapes and mixing and matching them to get just the right balance. I also got to use some cream colored ribbon that I have a surplus of but never get around to using.
Overall, I absolutely love how this page turned out and I really enjoyed making it.
Finding geometric balance on a page is one of my favorite things to do.

I'm still on my never-ending quest to use elements that I've had stashed away for awhile. This large orange flower was a piece I had been saving for something good. I found this photo with me as a baby with my late grandfather and I knew it was perfect. My "Pa" always liked planting and growing flowers and I think it really worked well with this page. I got to use some old Stampin' Up ribbon as well as some Thickers I'd been saving for something special.
