Another day, another challenge!  This time I got to use all the bright, over-bearing, slightly gaudy colors that I love!  This Paper Girls challenge was to have some summer fun.  One of my favorite things to do in the summer is go to county fairs.  I love rides and games and most importantly, I love the wonderfully calorie-packed food!  So good!  This photo was taken in front of one of the rides at the Effingham County Fair from one summer that had Thor, my favorite Avenger, painted on the side.  I was really excited.

Once again, I usually don't do sketch challenges but I wanted to try this one from Challenge YOUrself because I was intrigued by the circles.  I don't get to use large circles very often so I was  pretty excited to try and make a couple myself.  My end product is a loose interpretation of the sketch but my favorite elements from it are still there with some circles made of twine, the long blocks of paper behind the photos, and even just the idea of overlapping multiple photos.  As with every challenge for that blog, yes, I am in the photos.  I'm the one in the back with the guy in the stripes.  We had a fun time right before the end of our junior year at my apartment and took silly group pictures to commemorate it!

Today I decided to go ahead and do another blog challenge, this one from The Paper Girls.  The challenge just required that cute animals somehow be involved in the layout, design, photos etc.

I recently brought photos from back home here to school and I found photos of me feeding a giraffe!  I definitely think that qualifies as a cute animal!  I used materials from my mom and my aunt who recently went to a scrapbooking convention and won some prizes.  I'm so lucky that they bequeath me with their loot occasionally.

Decided to try a page with more pictures today as a personal challenge for myself.  I think I made the page interesting with as little space as I had.  It was a quick build but I rather like it!

Today I decided to stay on my challenge roll with scrapbooking and have opted to attempt the current Pixels and Paper challenge.  This month's inspiration photo was the following image:

For some reason, when I looked at this, it reminded me of Girl Scouts.  I wasn't ever that great of one but the women and the craftiness of the image reminded me of one of the few memories I have of being a Girl Scout where we had to make secret Santa gifts by hand. I remember making a clay flower pot picture frame with flowers and birds not unlike the ones in the inspiration photo.  I dug up some pictures that were taken when I became a Girl Scout instead of a Brownie although I'm not entirely positive that is what is actually happening in the photos.  Either way I enjoyed making the page and using the way the different blues and greens made the reds pop out like in the photo.

Got back around to doing more scrapbooking now that my classes are over for the semester.  This time I thought I'd try one of the Scrap Our Stash challenges again.  I'm usually not very good at the ones where you use items that spell out a word so I haven't thought about participating in them as much but this time since I have extra time to kill I forced myself to do one.

The challenge was to use the letters in "emboss" and make a page using elements and such with those letters.  I came up with:

E- Embellished Flowers
M- Memories, Family, and Yummy words
B- Bellflower Paper Edger Scissors
O- Orange Cardstock
S- Stickers
S- Stamped Flowers

It's not the most creative use of the letters but I'm just proud I got even that far,

Here is my page:
